Setup to use your email account to check all of your email with a single profile on a home PC.

You can configure your home PC using Netscape 7.0.2 Messenger to check your NSU email account using a single profile. Your profile would point to your NSU email account to receive email and the your Internet Service Provider (ISP) account to send email. Upon completing the tasks below, you will tell all of your friends and family to simply email you at userid@nsuok.edu and you will receive all of their emails. You will not notice any difference in your email program.

Opening Netscape 7.0.2 Profile Manager:

  • You MUST connect to NSU WebVPN Pro <click Here> before accessing your NSU e-mail if utilizing the process below, otherwise you can always access your e-mail through NSU Webmail <click Here>.
  • Open Netscape Messenger.
  • At the top, click 'Edit' and then move the mouse down to 'Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings ...' and click.
  • The 'Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings' Popup window is now open.
  • Click, as show below, on the 'Outgoing Settings' on the left side.
  • On the right side, look down to the 'Server Name:' field.
  • In the box, type your email servers address. (typically 'mail.ispname.ext)
  • Below, in the 'User Name' box, type the user name used to access your online account, or ISP (Internet Service Provider). This will almost always be somewhat different than you NSU UserID.
  • Click 'OK' and your done!
