OSAGE Access From Home - Installing Files

Follow the steps below to install the files that allow you to access the OSAGE computer on the NSU campus:

  1. Save the attached files to the C:\Program Files\Minisoft directory.
    • You will have to create that directory, using the Create New Folder icon in the Save As dialog box, or any other method you want.
    • If, when you are saving these files to your hard disk, Netscape does not put the correct extension (s92, etc.) on the filename, you must type the extension yourself or these instructions will not work.
    • Names of files with correct extensions

Save as...

  1. Open Windows Explorer and execute the WS_4403.EXE program by double-clicking its filename.

  1. When the program requests a password, type in print.

  1. Follow the directions in the Setup program.

  1. The program will ask you if you want to change the directory location. You must change the directory, just as you did in step 1, to C:\Program Files\Minisoft.

Choose Destination Location

  1. A message box will appear stating that the program was successfully installed and giving you the option of Exiting or starting Minisoft. Select Exit.

Creating a shortcut for OSAGEISP.EXE.

To access OSAGE, you can either double-click on the OSAGEISP.EXE program in Windows Explorer each time or create a shortcut on your desktop.

  • To create a shortcut, locate the OSAGEISP.EXE using Windows Explorer. Right click on the file. A menu will appear that lists the Create shortcut here option. Choose this option to create the shortcut; then drag the shortcut to your desktop (either by using the Edit /Copy option or by dragging the shortcut to your desktop and selecting Create Shortcut here when prompted.
  • Now you can double-click on your desktop icon to launch the OSAGEISP program.

SUMMARY
  1. Save the attached files to C:\Program Files\Minisoft.
  2. Double-click WS_4403.EXE.
  3. Enter print as password.
  4. After the program installs, create a shortcut for OSAGEISP.EXE and move it to your desktop.

You have successfully installed the software and placed a shortcut to OSAGEISP on your desktop
