Double-click the gold shield in the system tray.


Your installation of SAV should be managed by a SAV server. Managed clients of a server will receive updated virus definitions whenever they are released. The area highlighted in yellow indicates that your Symantec AntiVirus is managed by the DORM-SAV server. If this area is blank your client is not managed and is not ensured to receive updates. Please uninstall Symantec AntiVirus and reinstall it from http://dorm-sav/webinstall.


To ensure that your installation has the most up to date definitions from the server click the "LiveUpdate..." button.


When the LiveUpdate window opens click the "Next >" button.


The LiveUpdate process will connect to Symantec's servers and check for updates.


If updates are found they will be downloaded to your computer for automatic installation.


Once the updates are installed they will be automatically installed by the LiveUpdate utility.


If the update is completed successfully you will be presented with a screen similar to the following:


If updates are found you may see the following window informing you that it is "Updating Virus Protection Files".


If no updates are available at this time you will see that following window.


If there is an error in the update process you be presented with a windows similar to the following:
