If
your monitor flickers, try adjusting your display settings
as described below:
- Right
mouse click on your desktop and choose Properties.
- If
you have a Refresh tab, you may change the refresh
rate that reduces flicker. Choose Change Configuration,
and increase to 85Hz for 640X480, 800X600, and 1024X768.
If you do not have a Refresh tab, click on the Settings
tab and then the Advanced Properties button.
The type of video adapter (card) your computer has will
be displayed.
- Click
the cancel button.
- Again,
click the cancel button to exit display properties.
If
you do not have a refresh tab, you need to install a video
adapter program by following these instructions:
These
instructions show how to build a video adapter installation
diskette, or set of two diskettes.
- In
the set of manuals that came with your computer is a Ready-to-Configure
CD.
- Insert
the CD and then double click on My Computer.
- Double
click on ibmsetup.exe, choose US English,
and Diskette factory.
- Find
the video adapter for Windows 95 and have the correct number
of blank diskettes ready.
- Click
the Build button.
- When
finished building the diskette(s) exit the CD program. If
you do not have the Ready-to-Configure CD, you may borrow
the video adapter installation diskette(s) from the MSC.
To
install the video adapter program, double click on My Computer.
- Double
click on 3 ½ Floppy (A:) and then double click
on setup.exe.
- Follow
the instructions on the screen. After the installation is
finished, right mouse click on your desktop and choose Properties.
- Click
the Refresh tab and choose Change Configuration,
and increase to 85Hz for 640X480, 800X600, and 1024X768.
