In pursuit of this mission, IS works to promote communication and teamwork within the department and with other functional areas of the university.

The IS staff provides administrative support and maintenance of over 30 software systems, consisting of over 3500 source programs utilizing over 1 million lines of code. Most of these systems are online, interactive, and code-driven. The major systems include:

  • Bookstore
  • Financial Aid
  • Financial's (GL, AR, AP, EN, OH, CK)
  • Housing
  • NSUnet Menu
  • Parking
  • Payroll
  • Physical Plant Work Order Tracking
  • Purchasing
  • Recruitment
  • Security
  • Student Accounting
  • Student Loans
  • Unit Data
  • Vehicle Leasing

Over 2 million pages are printed each year in support of these systems, using central and remote printers at all three campuses. Many of these systems have been modified to be paperless, and are connected via email. The IS staff also provides special reporting, operational support, problem analysis, and vendor liaison functions.
