C
& T holds your electronic documentation in high
regards. We show this by the frequency and verve
in which we protect this data through the use of
multiple backups ... called 'Snapshots.' Snapshots,
named for it's numerous, near instantaneous recording
of your L: drive data on a variety of levels. These
levels include: 8 Hourly, 3 Nightly and 4 Weekly.
They are named ".0", ".1", etc.,
with ".0" being the most recent one and
the highest number being the oldest.
Hourly
snapshots occur on the hour. Both the Employee and
Student filers have hourly Snapshots at 8 a.m.,
12 p.m., and 4 p.m. The nightly Snapshots occur
at 12 a.m.. The weekly Snapshots occur every Sunday
at midnight.
Bear
in mind each type of Snapshot has an independent
shedule - in other words, hourly snapshots do not
roll over to nightly Snapshots, and nightly Snapshots
do not roll over to weekly Snapshots. Or, put another
way, when, at midnight tonight, the nightly snapshots
happen, the hourly Snapshots are untouched and remain
so until 8 a.m. the next day (when they roll over
according to our current schedule).
The
nightly folders don't change until midnight tonight.
And the weekly folder will not change until next
Sunday night.
The
exact schedule for Snapshots for all Filers is:
Weekly - 0000 (every Sunday)
Nightly - 0000
Hourly - 0100
Hourly - 0300
Hourly - 0600
Hourly - 0900
Hourly - 1300
Hourly - 1500
Hourly - 1800
Hourly - 2100
Note:
It is important to recover missing data as soon
as possible. Remember that the Snapshots occur on
the schedule above, so, when that schedule rolls
around the next time the data that was present during
the previous Snapshot is overwritten.
