Check For New Email Every 5 Minutes

Configuring Microsoft's Outlook Express to check for email every 5 minutes will keep your connection to your ISP from timing out and disconnecting.

For this to function, the email program must remain open; however, you can minimize it to remove it from view.

1	Open Outlook Express (the email program).
2	Click on Tools to open the Tools menu.
3	Click on Options... to open the Options dialog box.

4	Click the General tab to ensure it's on top.
5	Make sure the box next to Check for new messages every is checked. [If it's not checked—Click to put a check in the box.]
6	In the minute(s) box—use the up/down arrow buttons to change the number to 5.
7	Click on OK to close the Options dialog box and save settings.
