NET Facts
The building is the nerve center for a campus-wide fiber optic network. It is the distribution center for many computing, video, and telecommunication services for the campus and surrounding area. The building provides office space, computer machine rooms, training facilities, a television studio, and audio and video editing rooms. Four classroom computer labs provide access to local and global network resources through 160 multimedia-equipped IBM personal computers. A building security system facilitates 24 hour access to computer labs. Seven teleconferencing rooms accommodate groups ranging from 6 to 400. Teleconferencing rooms provide two-way video and audio to remote sites and full multimedia presentation capabilities. A vaulted reception and visitor center on the sixth floor provides formal meeting rooms for groups of about 80.

As a regional networking hub, NSU provides leadership in instructional and administrative uses of technology. In addition to Internet connection services, NSU provides distance education opportunities through compressed and broadcast video technologies. Studio and editing facilities are available for production of broadcast quality materials.
The most recent addition to a long list of firsts in Oklahoma education was a 1993 Governor's Commendation for the first fully electronic campus.

Services
Information Services develops, maintains, and enhances central computing software used by campus offices to provide student and employee services.
Technical Services maintains and expands campus computer networks and telephone systems and supports distance education technologies.
Microcomputing Services maintains university PCs and peripherals, provides Help Desk support, advanced on-site support, PC consulting. We also assist faculty and staff with the development and enhancement of print, web, and digital instructional material. Production of interdepartmental design and publications, provides training on campus-standard software are other services that we provide.
Video Services produces, obtains and distributes audio and video material in support of instruction and special events, and operates campus CATV and the NSU TV station.
Support Services provides clerical support, manages the copier program, and provides telephone operators and service staff.
NET building auditoriums, seating 400 and 100, and the sixth floor reception center are scheduled through Conferences and Activities, extension 2500.
NET building computer labs are available to all NSU students and employees as scheduled classes permit.
